BookWave is an iOS app for reading EPUB and PDF books, listening with text-to-speech, and tracking reading and listening progress. This Privacy Policy explains how BookWave handles information.
BookWave may store information needed for app functionality, including your imported books, library metadata, reading progress, supported highlights, bookmarks, listening activity, app settings, generated local audio exports, and reading or listening statistics.
BookWave stores data on your device. When you are signed in to iCloud, your library – including book titles, folder organization, reading progress, supported highlights, bookmarks, and your imported EPUB and PDF files – may sync through Apple's CloudKit service in your private iCloud account. If iCloud is unavailable, BookWave may keep some data only on your device until iCloud becomes available again.
BookWave does not operate its own servers for storing your library, imported books, highlights, bookmarks, reading progress, or listening statistics.
BookWave allows you to import EPUB and PDF files and create reading-related data such as supported highlights, bookmarks, and progress records. Your imported books and reading data are used only to provide app features such as reading, text-to-speech, progress tracking, highlights, bookmarks, and library storage.
Imported EPUB and PDF files may sync through CloudKit in your private iCloud account when iCloud is available. If iCloud is unavailable, BookWave may store imported books only on your device.
BookWave does not provide, sell, verify, or authorize the books or files you import into the app. BookWave does not sell your imported books, reading activity, highlights, bookmarks, or personal reading data.
BookWave may compute local identifiers or cryptographic hashes for EPUB and PDF files, reading locations, supported highlights, bookmarks, or library records. These values help the app recognize books, avoid duplicates, sync records, and match reading positions. They are not used to encrypt your books, track you across other apps, or identify you outside BookWave.
BookWave may store supported highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress. Highlights may include the text you selected. When iCloud is available, supported highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress may sync across your devices through CloudKit as part of your library metadata.
BookWave may also store reading and listening statistics, such as daily reading or listening time and estimated words read or listened to. When iCloud is available, these statistics may sync across your devices through CloudKit so that your combined activity is reflected in the in-app statistics features.
BookWave may offer auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchase. Payments, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple.
BookWave uses Apple StoreKit to load products, process purchases, restore purchases, and check subscription entitlement status.
BookWave does not use a third-party subscription analytics or entitlement service.
BookWave does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or ad tracking.
BookWave does not sell personal data.
BookWave uses system text-to-speech functionality to read supported book text aloud and to create local audio exports where available. BookWave does not send your book text or generated audio to BookWave servers for text-to-speech processing.
BookWave may rely on Apple services such as iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, and system text-to-speech. Your use of Apple services is also subject to Apple's privacy policies and your Apple account settings.
BookWave may include links to external pages such as privacy, terms, support, or Apple subscription management resources. If you open an external link, your use of that website or service is subject to its own privacy policy and terms.
BookWave is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.
You can delete imported books, supported highlights, bookmarks, and app data from within the app where supported. BookWave also provides an option to delete synced library data, which removes your synced library data, including imported EPUB and PDF files, from CloudKit for your Apple ID, including on your other devices when sync completes.
You may also remove app data from your device or iCloud using iOS and iCloud settings.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
