Support

How do I import a book?

Tap the add button on the shelf and pick any DRM-free .epub or .pdf file from the Files app. The book appears on your shelf right away.

How does listening work?

Open a book and start playback. BookWave reads the text aloud using voices that run entirely on your device – nothing is sent to any server. You can keep listening with the screen off or while using other apps.

How do I create an audiobook?

Long-press a local EPUB in your library and choose Create Audiobook. BookWave creates the audio locally on your device and opens the share sheet so you can save or send the file.

How does sync work?

When you are signed in to iCloud, your library, reading progress, and supported highlights and bookmarks sync automatically across your iPhone and iPad through your private iCloud account. There is no BookWave account and no third-party server.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Settings inside BookWave and tap Restore Purchases. The same option is also available on the BookWave Pro screen.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions, or see Apple's guide to managing subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual books, supported highlights, and bookmarks inside the app. BookWave also offers an option in Settings to delete your synced library data from iCloud across all your devices.

Where do the built-in classics come from?

BookWave includes a small starter library of classic books that are believed to be public domain or otherwise lawfully available for inclusion in the app. Public domain status may vary by country or region. If you believe a work has been included incorrectly, please contact us.

Where can I find open-source notices?

Open-source acknowledgments and license information are available on the Acknowledgments page.
